It was a good weekend for #2-seed Capistrano Valley as they beat top-seeded Oxnard 41-31 to win the CIF-Southern Section Division 2A championship game.  The Cougars in the process also pick-up the National SSN Ugliest Uniform in the process. The award is well deserved, just by some of the comments we’ve seen on twitter many others agree as well.

The good part for Capistrano Valley, having an ugly uniform does not keep you from winning championships.  It may even be helpful, distracting the opposing team members and fans.

You will notice that they have a ‘black jersey and striped trunks‘ and a ‘white jersey and the same striped trunks‘.

I did find some socks (over forty years ago) for Capistrano Valley if they are interested, the Buda Western (Illinois) Rams made it to the State semifinals in 1976.  Once again is shows that ‘ugly’ can win.

The only words of encouragement I can give to the Cougar faithful is that the ugly duckling did turn into a beautiful swan one day, so maybe there is still hope, until that time good luck.
