(8-15-17) – Marion Local and Notre Dame commit John Dirksen (Senior) has been named to the MaxPreps Small Schools Football Preseason All-American Team.
Dirksen is one of the top lineman in the country at any size school is a big reason that Marion Local has rolled during over opponents during his high school career.
OL — John Dirksen, Marion Local (Maria Stein, Ohio), 6-5, 305
Marion Local has been one of the top small school programs in the nation and Dirksen may be the program’s biggest recruit yet. He has already committed to Notre Dame after helping Marion Local to an Ohio Division VI state title.
Two other players from Ohio also were named to the 1st team:

- RB — Daniel Bangura, Harvest Prep (Canal Winchester, Ohio), 5-10, 175
