(11-26-17) The playoff season brought more shakeups to the SSN National HS Football Rankings. Four teams were upset and four newcomers change the look of this week’s Top 10. #4 Duncanville, #5 Centennial, #6 Archer and #9 Mission Viejo all lost, making this week the biggest change of the entire 2017 football season. Centennial and Mission Viejo lost by over 20 points, while Duncanville lost by 1 in a State Final game and Archer by 5.

Four quality teams take advantage of those losses to join the Top 10 for the first time this season, South Pointe enters at #7, Pine-Richland at #8, Denton Ryan at #9 and Martinsburg at #10.

Two of the Top 10 members won State titles this past weekend, #4 Ben Davis who moved up from #7 to #4 handling Penn 63-13 in the Indiana 6A title game and Lincoln-Way East won the Illinois 8A championship beating Loyola 23-14.
Wake Forest is still in control at #1 after beating Sanderson 35-7 and moves on to play in the NCHSAA 4AA Eastern Regional Final against Garner.

I am glad that at least someone can recognize the talent on the team here in Sheridan and how they deserve to be ranked in the top 25 in the nation at least. That team was the best since 1992, when half a dozen players received D-1 scholarships and won 4 straight state championships. Bronc Pride!
