
(6-9-20) Former Van Wert Head Basketball Coach Keith Noftz is returning to Ohio to take over the Akron Ellet program.
Noftz (64) has a 293-231 career record in 22 seasons as a high school head coach.
Noftz resigned in March after four seasons in Pennsylvania as the North Allegheny boys basketball coach and a 46-44 record. Noftz was the head coach at five other high schools – Gibsonsburg (1979-1982), Otsego (1982-1984), Van Wert (1984-1992), South Bend (Indiana) Adams (1992-1994) and Canton McKinley (2011-2014).

Noftz was twice named Ohio Coach of the Year by the Ohio High School Basketball Coaches Association while at Van Wert where he compiled a 148-65 record with three state semifinal appearances (Class AA in 1987, Division II in 1990 and 1992).
