(7-9-20) Illinois high schools had a setback today when the Illinois High School Association (IHSA), decided to backtrack on preparation plans for contact sports in the fall.

In a tweet (see above) today the IHSA revised Phase 4 Guidelines, a huge disappointment for student-athletes and coaches.  The changes come after just three days of the phase 4 plan being in place. More changes look to becoming soon.

Today some Illinois schools made some tough choices after the announcement was made-

Today’s announcement that the Big 10 (plus numerous other college leagues) would only play conference games this fall will have some impact on fall sports at the high school level.

Other states are clamping down on the upcoming fall seasons.  The biggest news today came out of New Mexico when it was announced that football and soccer seasons were being postponed and moved to the spring. Other states are also discussing that option and hoping that they can play those games in front of crowds.
