
(5-30-23) 2023 Mr. Kentucky Reed Sheppard from North Laurel High School will not participate in the Kentucky All-Stars games vs. the Indiana All-Stars in early June.
Yesterday Sheppard sent a letter to Scott Chalk, the executive director of the Kentucky Association of Basketball Coaches (KABC), stating that he would be unable to participate in the games with the Kentucky Senior All-Stars due to other commitments. including his enrollment process at the University of Kentucky.
Sheppard will not be replaced and Kentucky Senior All-Stars team and will now have only have 11 players suited up for the All-Star series.
Sheppard, is part of Kentucky’s top-ranked 2023 recruiting class, was scheduled to wear the ceremonial No. 1 jersey for the Kentucky boys an honor given ti the Mr. Kentucky winner.

Last year Mr. Indiana runner-up Fletcher Loyer of Homestead declined the invitation to play in the games. Loyer this past season was a member of Purdue.
