(6-13-23) Sorting out the rumors from actual happenings in the Northwest Conference’s search to replace two members is in full swing.

Tomorrow night there is a ‘possible‘ discussion that will take place at an area school. According to that school’s BOE agenda speculation the NWC will be a topic of conversation-

For some reason school administrators seem to want to keep a possible athletic conference change as top secret as long as they can…Athletic items in a BOE agenda is sometimes cryptic for that.

The three schools who are known to have contacted NWC officials look to be on the outside looking in and have not checked any of the boxes for member schools . If any of these schools would be asked to join there will be no ripples in area conferences.

A NWC administrator last Friday did confirm that at least one school was scheduled to meet with them and discuss consideration of joining the conference.

Uneven number of football schools is one main reason the NWC wants to get this settled…finding a non-conference game to schedule in the last week’s of the season can be tough.

If there was a ‘perfect’ solution it would have already been made….
