(6-20-23) In today’s Van Wert Independent there is an update on the Northwest Conference membership situation.
Previous VW Independent stories about movement in the NWC can be found here and here.
The update was during last night’s Crestview Board of Education meeting.
Crestview High School Principal Dave Bowen
“We’re waiting for feedback from one of those schools as to whether they may come our way or not. Two of them have declined to join the Northwest Conference at this time, so we have a meeting on June 26 to continue to discuss our options. We do have some schools that are interested in joining our league and we are weighing those options as well…we are being very patient yet trying to get the dominoes to fall to ensure that the Northwest Conference remains a strong conference.”
Last week Parkway announced they were turning down the NWC to remain in the Midwest Athletic Conference.

Three other schools that have indicated interest in joining the NWC are Liberty-Benton, Lima Central Catholic and Fort Loramie (football only). These three would not cause fall out to other leagues since they all need a new home for athletics.
