(7-29-23) So the Summit Athletic Conference (SAC) has 10 members that compete in the conference play in football and boys and girls basketball.

Carroll and Homestead

In all other sports there are only eight SAC members North Side, South Side, Snider, Wayne, Northrop, Bishop Dwenger, Bishop Luers and Concordia. Carroll and Homestead do not compete in these sports and do not have any conference affiliation for them…making them an independent in those sports. The student-athletes at those two schools have no opportunity to win a conference title or to be named all-conference.

The background article below describes the entrance of the two schools to the SAC…see the details of what was suppose to happen in the future.

So why are Carroll and Homestead exempted from SAC play in these other sports? Was it their choice or the other SAC members.

Why we did this?

The story from BLITZ: What will area high school football look like in 2028?

Below is the email we sent to Carroll and Homestead school administrators, plus a follow-up email request to again ask for information was sent. There was no reply from either school as of this posting.

Clarification

So after being challenged we were hoping to clarify (right or wrong) the two schools standing in the SAC. How do you find that out???? You ask those involved in the situation.

Feel free to share your thoughts on all of this.
