(9-2-23) Former St. Marys boys head basketball coach Jeff Johnides, most recently he did color on WCSM (Celina) sports, has passed away.

Johnides was the head coach from 1987 until 1998, making him the longest tenured head varsity basketball coach in school history. Johnides coached at Shawnee before becoming the head man at St. Marys.

Johnides’ 1992-93 Roughriders team reached the Division II state semifinals, they won three straight sectional championships from 1992-94 and he finished with a record of 108-133 making him the second all-time winningest coach behind Dan Hegemier.
