(10-1-23) A look at the Stateline area OHSAA football computer rankings after week 7…are starting to show the indications of who gets a top 8 seed or who misses being one of the 16 qualifiers in a region.

Thanks to the hard work of Joe Eitel the rankings are available quickly after the last game is finished.

D III Region 12

Celina, with a 6-1 record, jumps all the way up to the #2 spot behind undefeated Hamilton Badin, The Bulldogs after a season opening loss to Versailles have now won six in a row and lead the Western Buckeye League standings.

Two WBL schools join the Bulldogs in the top 16, Wapakoneta is at #11 and Elida at #13. Shawnee at 0-7 is tied in the last region spot at 27th with Greenville..

D IV Region 14

Van Wert is the top Stateline area school at #5, Bath at 4-3 looks to be solid in the #12 spot and St. Marys, who has put together a small winning streak moves into the top 16 at #15. Kenton at 2-5 drops out of the top 16 to the #17 spot.

D V Region 18

This region is very solid, Coldwater with a 7-0 record remains in the #5 spot. Northwest Conference member Spencerville is just inside the top 16 with a 2-5 record.

The WBL’s O-G Titians at 0-7 and have had a tough go this season are in a tie at #23.

D VI Region 24

This region has just six of the 24 schools with above .500 records…Versailles from the MAC is at #2 with a 6-1 record, including a 1-point loss to Marion Local. Anna is 3-4 on the season and ranked at #7 and Parkway with a 2-5 record is ranked at #9.

D VII Region 28

Marion Local is ranked #1 with a 7-0 record, this has not been a typical year for the Flyers with two close scares this year to Wapakoneta and Versailles. However…the Flyers have the 3rd longest consecutive game winning streak in the USA with 39 wins and on Friday night Coach Tim Goodwin picked up his 300th career coaching win.

MAC rival Minster at 6-1 is ranked at #5, next door neighbors Ft. Loramie is ranked #10 and New Bremen is at #14. Another MAC member St. Henry, with a 2-5 record, is ranked just inside the top 16 at #15.

The final MAC team in the region, Ft. Recovery at 0-7 is in a 3-way tie for #21.
