Illinois Independent Conference Week 7…Althoff Catholic Secures Playoff Birth

( 10-8-23) Week 7 of the 2023 Illinois high school football season is in the books. It was a .500 week for the Illinois Independent Conference (IIC) members…going 3-3 in non-conference games and 1-1 against out-of-state opponents.

Two of the top IIC teams met on the field on Friday night, Althoff Catholice picked up the big win over Mater Dei 41-22. With the win the Crusaders are the first IIC team to secure a playoff birth with its 6th win.

Althoff Catholic is 3-0 in play, while Mater Dei is 3-1..

Why The SSN’s Illinois Independent Conference????

To add a little extra excitement for the Illinois high school football teams playing an independent schedule. It is tough being an independent in Illinois.

All 12 Illinois independent high schools are included, Won-Lost records, weekly scores, highlights, all-independent team will be named at the end of the year. The IIC is not an actual conference but it hopes to provided the benefit of one.

This is just a way for SSN to promote these student-athletes. SSN hopes that all the schools will enjoy this during the season.
