(10-21-23) The first year of the Illinois Independent Conference (IIC) was completed last night with Althoff Catholic picking up the first ever title with a 8-1 overall record and going 4-0 against IIC members.

Joining Althoff Catholic as qualifiers for the playoffs is Mater Dei and Riverside-Brookfield. Two other members, including Red Hill (who won #5 today) and Collinsville are both eligible with 5 wins.

The IIC went 4-8 against non-IIC members.

Why The SSN’s Illinois Independent Conference????

To add a little extra excitement for the Illinois high school football teams playing an independent schedule. It is tough being an independent in Illinois.

All 12 Illinois independent high schools are included, Won-Lost records, weekly scores, highlights, all-independent team will be named at the end of the year. The IIC is not an actual conference but it hopes to provided the benefit of one.

This is just a way for SSN to promote these student-athletes. SSN hopes that all the schools will enjoy this during the season.
