(11-24-23) Indianapolis Lutheran’s Jackson Willis tied an Indiana Class A state finals record with four touchdown passes as Lutheran defeated Adams Central 35-28 for its third consecutive 1A state championship, all three coming against the Flying Jets.
DeVaun Jones caught two touchdown passes and junior LJ Ward, in his first game since returning from a leg injury that kept him out eight games, also caught two TD passes.
Willis finished 13-for-18 passing for 226 yards and Braydon Hall rushed for 145 yards and a touchdown on 30 carries.
Adams Central QB Jack Hamilton was 16-for-24 for 226 yards and three TDs, including Trevor Currie’s six receptions for 126 yards and two TDs.
Both Lutheran and Adams Central will move up to 2A due to the tournament success factor.
