“The Illinois High School Association (IHSA) has been in communication with the Eldorado High School administration over the past few days. The school is taking internal steps to address the incident that occurred during its varsity boys basketball contest against Hamilton County High School on December 28. The school plans to present their recommended action to the IHSA, at which point the IHSA will review and determine if additional consequences are warranted.”
1-3-24 — The Eldorado (Illinois) Community Unit #4 School District held a special board meeting on Tuesday night to discuss and consider suspending or terminating the employment of athletic coaches.

An executive session was held first, after they came back from that it was decided to terminate multiple coaching staff members. The board also decided to hire interim coaches.
Indications were that the players involved have been disciplined.

The staff terminated includes head coach Josh Bradley, varsity assistant John DeBose, varsity assistant TJ Zuriline, JV coach Austin Bradley and freshman coach Adam Ninnes.
They board appointed Rod Wallace as the interim coach.
Due to the Special Board Meeting last night’s game with Mt. Carmel was cancelled. The Eagles (5-8) next game is scheduled for Friday night against Carmi-White County
The IHSA has not released a statement on the situation or any comments about the officials. The play were the elbow was thrown did not result in a foul and the officials did not immediately stop play.
The district plans to release a statement later today.
