(2-18-24) The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks held the state Hoop Shoot Competition on February 17, 2024 in Newark, Ohio.

 

Representing the Northwest Ohio District Elks Lodges were (8-9 Girls) Myra Unrast representing Mercer Co Elks Lodge #2170, (10-11 Girls) Myma Dreyer representing Van Wert Elks Lodge #1197, (12-13 Girls) Jacklyn Carper representing Findlay Elks Lodge #75, (8-9 Boys) Parker Moeller representing Mercer Co Elks Lodge #2170, (10-11 Boys) Marcus Eckstein representing Mercer Co Elks Lodge #2170 and (12-13 Boys) Keaton Elwer representing Lima Elks Lodge #54.

 

8-9 Girls: Myra Unrast of Mercer County #2170 shot 15 of 25 to place 5th

8-9 Boys: Parker Moeller of Mercer County #2170 shot 22 of 25 to place 1st

10-11 Girls: Myma Dreyer of Van Wert #1197 shot 13 of 25 to tie for 5th

10-11 Boys: Marcus Eckstein of Mercer County #2170 shot 17 of 25 to tie for 5th

12-13 Girls: Jacklyn Carper of Findlay #75 shot 8 of25 to place 6th

12-13 Boys: Keaton Elwer of Lima #54 shot 23 of 25 and 4 of 5 in a tie breaker to place 2nd

 

Parker Moeller will complete at the Elks Regional Hoop Shoot competition in South Bend, IN on March 16, 2024.

 

The Elks National “Hoop Shoot” free throw shooting contest, founded in 1971, is the largest most visible of the many youth activities throughout the country. The contest is funded entirely by the Elks National Foundation, the charitable arm of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of the United States of America.
