(3-15-24) Brandywine (25-3) will face Old Redford (21-8) in the Michigan Highs School Athletic Association (MHSAA) D3 Boys Basketball State Final this Saturday at 4:30pm. at the Breslin Center on the campus of Michigan State University. The two teams advanced to the final game after winning their semifinal game today…both are making their first appearance in an MHSAA boys basketball State Final.
An old saying applies to both teams….’hard work ain’t easy‘ describes how both both teams made it to the final game…Brandywine hit a regulation buzzer ending put-back to go into to overtime and then go on to pick-up the win over McBain 51-48. The Bobcats won despite being out rebounded 43-22 by McBain.
Old Redford picked up their win on a dramatic buzzer beating shot over Riverview Gabriel Richard 43-41 to advance to the Final.

In the other D3 semifinal Old Redford Academy (Junior) guard Arkell Boyd’s 3-pointer from the corner at the buzzer gave the Ravens their 13th consecutive in the win over Riverview Gabriel Richard.

Old Redford has worked hard during the tournament after earning a one-point win over 2023 champion Flint Beecher in the Quarterfinal and a two-point victory over Detroit Loyola in the Regional Final.
