(4-12-24) Garrett Krieg is stepping down as the South Adams boys basketball coach after just three seasons…effective immediately.

The Starfires went 3-19 and 0-6 in the ACAC this past season. 4-18 and 1-5 in 2022-23 and 5-18 and 1-5 in 2021-22.

Krieg told the Commercial-Review –

“I was kind of taken by surprise a little bit. After talking to my athletic director and principal about things that might need to change and what we might need to do, I thought it was best to kind of just resign on my own terms.

South Adams Girls coach Wayne Kreiger is stepping down as the South Adams girls varsity coach after three seasons. Kreiger retires with more than 600 wins in his varsity coaching positions during his career.

This past season the Starfires went 7-16 overall and 3-3 in the ACAC, in 2022-23 they went 13-11 and 3-3 and in 2021-22 they were 15-9 and 4-4.

Other changes in the ACAC…Southern Wells, boys varsity coach Joel Roush resigned after serving the past two years…Southern Wells girls varsity coach Jessica Killingbeck also resigned after serving seven years.
