(8-1-24) Emmanuel Christian School is a product of Emmanuel Community Church in southwest Fort Wayne and it is located at 12222 US Hwy 24 W. The school is on the ground floor of its existence, but it is looking to grow and expand over the next several years with hopes of having high school students in place very soon.

William Lance, Head of Schools for Emmanuel Christian School told WANE TV

“We’ll add 7th grade and 8th grade the next two years, the idea is to be a k-12 program in Southwest Allen County closely aligned with Emmanuel Community Church. Our goal would be to open the high school with about 40 freshmen three years from now, that growth will come as we add each one of those grades.”

Lance added that athletics is already being discussed….

“We’re in Indiana, basketball is gonna be a part of our story. We already have parents, you know, kindergarten parents, like hey, so can you tell me what the basketball programs going to be like in 10 years. We know that Athletics will come online and we’ll need to compete in that and so part of that is just thinking far enough ahead to make sure that we have all the pieces in place to do that.”

Lance talked about the tuition to attend Emmanuel.

“We live in Indiana, it’s an awesome place for school choice. A lot of our tuition is covered just by vouchers.”

Across town one of the most successful Christian schools in Ft. Wayne and Indiana is Blackhawk Christian where its athletic programs have blossomed since the school first started in 1973. Winning State Championships and recently adding football. It is a model of what Emmanuel would like to see develop.

The excitement is building with the lower grades now and with the future of a high school. Private schools have been quite successful in Indiana high school sports…it will be an adventure for those first student-athletes.

All they need now is a mascot and school colors (unless the orange in the logo is one).
