(8-21-24) The Chardon Hilltoppers flew to Orlando, Florida today to get ready for tomorrow night’s game with Timber Creek.

Last season the Wolves went 4-6 and 2-2 in District play. They are a Florida 7A team (7A: 2,512-4,627 enrollment  (69 teams) the largest division. Chardon competes in Ohio’s D III and was 11-4 last season and lost to eventual state champions Toledo Central Catholic in the State Semifinal game 35-7.

According to 777 ScoreChardon Athletic Director Doug Snyder said –

“The whole trip—airfare (charter flight), accommodations, meals, and entry to Universal Studios—averaged around $1,900 per player, largely covered through successful fundraisers with minimal impact on our athletic budget.”

Chardon has recently played out-of-state opponent as part of its non-conference schedule, having defeated Camden (N.J.) and First Baptist Academy (Fla.) in 2022.

Making the most of the trip will include a JV game that will be played on Saturday morning, the players will have two-day passes to Universal Studios and the water park.

The game is scheduled to start at 7pm…August weather can be brutal in Florida.
