(9-1-24) The Summit Athletic Conference (SAC) had a tough week of completing week 2 of non-conference football games due to Mother Nature sending severe weather into the area and forcing lighting delays, postponements and Saturday morning restarts.

But one game is still up in the air….

From 21 Alive News….Ft. Wayne Wayne’s game with South Bend Riley is in dispute after South Bend Riley declined to continue the game. The Generals offered to go to South Bend to make up the contest, but Riley declined. Riley wants the game to go down as a no contest, but Wayne wants the win after leading 14-7 at the half. The IHSAA is expected to make their decision in the matter on Tuesday, September 3.

AD’s had a nightmare weekend with all of this…had the games on Friday been all conference games the process would have been easier making the arrangements…but the long distance match-ups forced some issues with how to handle the situations.

So for now the SAC members went 3-6 during week 2 of the non-conference schedule, this week will now start seven weeks of SAC conference games.
