(10-14-24) Two Michigan schools, Erie Mason and Whiteford, have committed to join the Toledo Area Athletic Conference (TAAC) (football only) starting in 2025. Just tonight Whiteford decided to join as well, Summerfield is also another future possible member.

Both schools were members of the Tri-County Conference, which just played their last conference game this past weekend.

The three Michigan schools might in the future be considered for TAAC full-membership.

TAAC Commissioner Rick Kaifas told Doug Donnelly –

“As the commissioner of the TAAC, I sure am hoping so. We’re trying to expand our horizons a little bit and hoping that maybe, because of the situation of all three schools, this could be a fit. The nice thing about the three schools we are looking at in Michigan is they are in close proximity to us.”

The TAAC had just four 11-man football members this past season, Edon, Ottawa Hills, Hilltop and Montpelier. One other Ohios school, North Central, will join for football next season.

Several years ago four Toledo Catholic Schools joined a Michigan private school athletic conference as full members…Catholic High School League.
