(11-3-24) Marion Local picked up its 59th consecutive win in the 1st round of the OHSAA playoffs 68-0 over Ft. Recovery on Friday night. It was the 2nd time this season that they beat their county-league rival, the first meeting was a 62-0 Flyer win.

This 2nd meeting between the two teams was not in the cards at first…Three schools who qualified in the Flyers’ D VII Region 28 …Lockland (opted out of the playoffs on Thursday, would have been the 16 seed), Cedarville and New Miami who were up next and assumed the #16 and #17 seeds all declined their invitations to play in the postseason against Marion Local. That is when Ft. Recovery was the next in line and accepted the challenge.
