(12-19-24) Hamilton Southeastern (15-0) pulled out a buzzer beater 52-50 win over Lawrence Central (14-1) this weekend to become the new #1 in the IBCA Girls Basketball Poll. The Royals picked up 21 of 22 1st place votes, while Lawrence Central held on to one 1st place vote.

Undefeated Warsaw(13-0) is #3, South Bend Washington (14-10) is #4 and undefeated Greenburg (16-0) is #5. No other teams in the top 20 remain undefeated, Alexandria at 16-0 picked up votes.

Below are results of the IBCA girls’ basketball poll for Week 8 of the 2024-25 season (Dec. 29, 2024). The IBCA poll is a “non-class” poll, where teams are voted to a Top 20 regardless of school classification.

There are 22 panelists who vote for the poll — one voter each from the 16 regionals and six at-large voters (two each from IHSAA Districts 1, 2 and 3), including committee chairman Doug Springer of Northridge.

This poll is released each Sunday throughout the 2024-25 Indiana high school girls’ basketball season. The final poll for the season will be Feb. 2, 2025, the Sunday following the completion of regular-season games. IHSAA sectional games are scheduled Feb. 4-8, 2025.
