(1-26-25) Hamilton Southeastern (21-0) is #1 again this week in the IBCA Girls Basketball poll….picking up 21 of the 22 1st place votes. Lawrence Central (21-1) picked up the other 1st place vote and is #2 this week.
The Royals will open the Class 4A Sectional tournament taking on Fishers (13-7).
Homestead beats Warsaw 67-55 in battle between two of Indiana’s top five teams
#3 is Homestead (21-2), #4 is South Bend Washington (20-2) and #5 is Warsaw (20-1).
#6 Greenburg remains with an unblemished 19-0 record.
Today’s ‘blind draw‘ for the IHSAA tournament continues to throw curve balls…as #4 South Bend Washington will open the sectionals against #19 Penn.
Below are results of the IBCA girls’ basketball poll for Week 12 of the 2024-25 season (Jan. 26, 2025). The IBCA poll is a “non-class” poll, where teams are voted to a Top 20 regardless of school classification.
There are 22 panelists who vote for the poll — one voter each from the 16 regionals and six at-large voters (two each from IHSAA Districts 1, 2 and 3), including committee chairman Doug Springer of Northridge.
This poll is released each Sunday throughout the 2024-25 Indiana high school girls’ basketball season. The final poll for the season will be Feb. 2, 2025, the Sunday following the completion of regular-season games. IHSAA sectional games are scheduled Feb. 4-8, 2025.
