(2-3-25) January 28th proved to be an emotional night in two Alabama boys high school basketball games…with fights breaking out at both of them.

Last Wednesday morning, Albertville City Schools and Guntersville City Schools released a joint statement to address the fight that happened following the Wildcats’ 60-50 win over the Aggies in varsity boys action last Tuesday night (January 28th) at Wildcat Gym.

The previous Saturday, the two played with the Aggie’s picking up a 72-61 win over the Wildcats.

According to MaxPreps…Albertville, who is 20-10 on the season, will play its first game since the incident on Thursday night. Guntersville lost two days after the incident to Grissom 59-47. Last night the Wildcats beat Fairview 71-59 to advance to the Area Championship Game tomorrow night.

On January 28th Elba forfeited an area tournament game, school officials confirmed that the call was made after a fight broke out at Tuesday night’s game against Georgiana. The Tigers also have forfeited a January 31st game to Red Level.
