COMPLETE SECTIONAL RESULTS

Coldwater swimmers also had swimmers to move onto next week’s Districts.

Junior Kelly May broke her own school record in the 200-yard individual medley, winning the event by 10 seconds and securing a second-place seed time for Friday’s District tournament at BGSU. Claire Bertke finished in second place, competing alongside this year’s top-seeded swimmer in the 50 freestyle within the Northwest District and she fourth-place seed for the District Meet and stands out as the only freshman ranked in the top 20.

It’s important to highlight that the top three swimmers from the Northwest District will automatically qualify for the state competition.

Junior Kiera Knapke advanced in all four of her events, while senior Lucy Langenkamp qualified in three out of her four events. Freshman Avery Kahlig was recognized as the most improved CAV swimmer of the meet, improving her time by three seconds in the 100-yard breaststroke and one second in the 50-yard freestyle, successfully advancing in three out of her four events.

Both the 200-yard freestyle relay and the 200-yard medley relay teams have advanced, with the freestyle relay holding the best chance of progressing to the state level. Coldwater is currently seeded eighth, with less than one second separating the eighth though fourth seeds.

Jr. Quinn Brandon is set to compete at the Northwest District Swim Meet in both the 100-yard and 50-yard freestyle events, where he holds the 22nd and 23rd place seeds, respectively. So. Noah Obringer has qualified in the Butterfly stroke and will represent at BGSU with a 30th seed.
