In October of 2022 a tragic card crash would end up taking the life of Russia Boys Basketball Coach Dave Borchers. Russia administrators, while mourning the loss, had to find a new head coach as the the 2022 season was just weeks away from starting. That is when it was decided to hire Spencer Cordonnier for the 2nd time in 2022 on an interim basis, which turned out to be for three years. Cordonnier would lead the Raiders to three State Tournaments, including winning the 2025 D VII State Title this year with a perfect 29-0 record this winter.

In a social media posting today Russia announced that they were looking to hire a new head coach.
