Note: submitted for publication, yes it might be someone pulling our leg

(4-17-25) After much excitement (and some very necessary city council discussions), Celina is thrilled to introduce our newest swim and dive team – the Celina Rubber Duckies! We may be late to the pool party, but don’t worry, we’re definitely making a splash!

“Look, we’re just here to keep things fun,” said Duckie Team President. “The Dolphins and Sharks have had their share of, let’s say, ‘complicated’ moments, and we thought, why not add a little lightheartedness to the mix?”

We will be bringing our request to rent the Bryson Pool to the next Council Meeting, and we’re now in the process of asking permission to join the Sharks and Dolphins in the Tri-County League. After all, if the city can handle two teams, surely they can handle three, right? We’re confident they can’t say no, especially when we show up in the most adorable team uniforms on the block.

Why Rubber Duckies? The answer is simple: Rubber Duckies are the epitome of fun, and we believe EVERYONE deserves to have a good time without the DRAMA. No territorial disputes, no team rivalries (okay, maybe just a few), just good ol’ fashioned swimming, diving, and a whole lot of quacking. If we’re lucky, we’ll make the other teams wish they’d had a Rubber Ducky moment sooner!

We hope to join the Tri-County League (yes, it turns out ducks can swim fast too), and we have plans for some highly entertaining meets this summer. It’s a chance for Celina’s youth to join a team where fun, safety, and an extra splash of quirkiness come first.

Our team isn’t about endless meetings or deciding who gets the biggest slice of the pool. We’re focused on having a good time, and we know Celina will love it. Our team will feature everything from a Quack Attack division to a Junior Ducky program for younger swimmers. We’re here to bring joy to the pool, not drama.

We’re also setting up a “Quack Fund” through the Mercer County Civic Foundation, and donation commitments are already rolling in. But we’re just getting started! Expect some exciting (and admittedly silly) fundraising events soon. And yes, you’ll be able to contribute to our efforts to make the Duckies the most fun swim team in the league.

Please stay tuned for our parent meeting coming soon! Our board members look forward to meeting you. If you want to learn more or just come meet the team that’s shaking up the pool scene, follow “Celina Rubber Duckies Swim & Dive Team” on Facebook.

So, let’s make some waves, Celina! We’ll have the whole town quacking with us in no time.
