(8-11-25) Auburn’s Wyeth Stadium won’t be ready to go for Friday night football games this season. Over the summer, a plane flying into Cottonwood Airport, a small airport with grass runways across Auburn Street, clipped the light bank on one of the posts, knocking them out and forcing Auburn and Jefferson to reconfigure their schedules.

Jefferson will play the majority of its home games on Thursday nights at Guilford’s Swanson Stadium, according to Jefferson High School Athletic Director Zach Larson. He added the Freeport game later in the season will remain on Friday night, still at Swanson Stadium.  Auburn will still play at Wyeth Stadium, but on Saturday afternoons instead of Friday night.
