(8-20-25) According to the Van Wert Independent after a 20-minute executive session last night the Lincolnview Local Schools Board of Education. accepted the resignation of head soccer coach Matt Hernandez, who coached the season opening game last week.

Hernandez had just started his second season. Last week the Lancers dropped their opening game to Ottoville 9-0. Lincolnview was 5-12-2 last season.

Assistant coach Fletcher Collins will serve as interim coach while they search for a new assistant.

After the meeting, Superintendent Jeff Snyder indicated that it was Hernandez’s decision to resign.

Lincolnview Superintendent Jeff Snyder said-

“In Van Wert County we’re really not a huge soccer county to begin with, so we really need to make sure we find the right fit with Fletcher so he has a good assistant with him.”

The season will continue for the Lancers when they play Miller City (2-0) on Thursday.
