In another Southwest Ohio football game last night…

The Wayne High School and Springfield High School football teams played at 6 p.m. Friday at Heidkamp Stadium in Huber Heights instead of 7 p.m., the normal kickoff time for Greater Western Ohio Conference games.

After the last Springfield at Wayne game in 2023 there had been a large fight in the parking lot.

To help prevent that from happening again, the time change was made, and there are other new procedures.

• Gates will open at 5 p.m.

• There will be no online ticket sales. Fans can buy tickets at the gate.

The time change was made Wednesday because –

“Huber Heights City Schools is committed to providing a safe and enjoyable game day experience to help achieve that goal, changes have been made in certain game-day procedures.”

In Alabama

Had an oof of a Homecoming game.. Was filming their AMAZING band and boom there’s kids throwing down kids..

Never have I ever seen this personally at a high school game.. Police on the field, with two players ejected for the rest of the game.

In New Jersey….

A pair of high school football programs in New Jersey are no longer eligible for this year’s state playoffs after a brawl during their game last Saturday.

Weequahic and West Side each had more than three players ejected due to the incident, triggering the state’s “3-DQ rule, per the NJSIAA’s Guidelines, Policies and Procedures.

“Any varsity team accumulating three or more player or coach disqualifications for flagrant unsportsmanlike conduct prior to the start of a tournament will not be permitted to participate in same.”

In addition to being banned from the playoffs, each of the players ejected for fighting are now suspended for the next game as well.
