(10-30-25) On Monday, October 27th, the Delaware Community School Corporation’s Board of School Trustees approved a conference change that will shift our corporation’s athletic and academic affiliations from the Hoosier Heritage Conference (HHC) to the Eastern Crossroads Conference (ECC). Delta has been a proud member of the HHC since 1997. We will always look back upon those years fondly and be grateful for the relationships we continue to enjoy with those member schools. It was time for a change as schools within the HHC continued to grow far beyond that of Delta High School.
Beginning in the 2027–2028 school year, Delta High School and Delta Middle School will officially start competing in the ECC, which includes Lapel, New Castle, Centerville, Eastern Hancock, Northeastern, and Shenandoah. The move will benefit Delta students both athletically and academically. Travel times will be reduced. There will be continued opportunities for middle school participation. Academic team competitions will be expanded. Big picture, we are looking forward to a bright future full of great opportunities for our students in the ECC.
Delta will remain a full member of the HHC through the 2026–2027 school year before transitioning completely to its new conference home.
