(11-13-25) According to a Daily Advocate story Bradford has decided to put girls varsity basketball program on hold. To this point only five girls had shown interest in playing this season.
The school did not hire a coach (Jason Watercutter) until September.
Bradford athletic director Chris Hunter told the Daily Advocate –
“That was where the initial issues started. A couple of the girls didn’t know if they would have a coach or not. Over the summer time, they were probably planning on not having a coach because there wasn’t one hired.
The goal is to shift the focus to middle school so that those girls know that we don’t want this to happen to them when they get to high school. It’s a working relationships with the middle school coaches more so than it was before we found out that we wouldn’t have a varsity team,”
Last season the Railroaders were 3-18 overall and just 1-9 in the Western Ohio Athletic Conference.
Numerous schools are looking to fill the open dates caused by by Bradford.
