(12-15-25) Princeton (3-1, 2-1 GMC) will play Tuesday night when they play at Lakota East (3-1, 2-1).
A new face will be on the bench for the Vikings…five star Kam Mercer (6’5 Sophomore Guard) after he withdrew from Atlanta-based Overtime Elite.
Why? Craig Mercer, Kam’s father in a WCPO post said that passage of name, image and likeness (NIL) by the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) was the main factor in the move.
Kam, who has 65,000 Instagram followers, has multiple NIL deals, including a multimillion-dollar deal with Panini America. In July, Kam became the first rising sophomore basketball player in the 2028 class to join Panini through an NIL agreement.
He is coming back to the Cincinnati area…his basketball journey has included Winton Woods Middle School, during the 2024-25 season he played for Huntington (W. Va.) Expression Prep before committing to Overtime Elite in May.
He was on the floor for Overtime just last week….
No information on what was required for Mercer to become eligible and when the process started or why he selected Princeton. Many questions to be answered in the future.
The future of Ohio athletics is just seeing the impact of NIL.
