RALEIGH, N.C. (12-27-25) —Washington (N.C.) picked up a 78-74 win over Reidsville (N.C.) on Friday at the John Wall Holiday Invitational to snap the nation’s longest winning streak at 63 games.

Washington boys basketball coach Dave Allewalt told HighSchoolOT.com

“You have to use some sort of banner to motivate your kids, right? A quote before the game said Washington was only a team that was in their way, so I ran with that with the kids and said, ‘let’s be in their way.”

Reidsville’s Dionte Neal, a UNC-Greensboro signee, finished with 42 points in the game. A late charge call that went against the 5-foot-9 guard looked to have cost Reidsville the game, as an and-one basket was waved off by the official.

Reidsville was playing its first game without Kendre Harrison, a five-star talent who had just left the team to join the University of Oregon where he will play football.
