(1-5-26) According to Ryan Walker, Sports Editor & Reporter at The Bluffton News-Banner, Southern Wells is seriously looking at an option to leave the ACAC to join the Mid-Eastern Conference (MEC).

One factor that looks to be a key factor of a possible move is the enrollment numbers, 247, at Southern Wells. The Raiders are the current smallest school in the ACAC. In the MEC the current enrollments range from 99 to 338, while the ACAC if the Raiders leave will be between 341 and 848.

Mid-Eastern Conference members Eastern Hancock and Shenandoah both recently announced that they plan to join the newly formed Eastern Crossroads Conference.

With the loss of two members…8 members still remain in the MEC.
