‘Last of the Little Mambas’ Scores 61 Points On Senior Night

(1-28-26) Amalia Holguin scored 61 points and set an Orange (Calif) County record hitting 14 3-pointers on Senior Night in Sage Hill’s 101-26 victory over Laguna Beach. Holguin also scored her 2,000th career point.

Sage Hill picked up its 17th consecutive win and is the top-ranked team in Orange County with a 22-4 record.

Holguin, who will play for Texas after graduation, has led Sage Hill to a state finals appearance and a No. 1 county ranking.

Holguin was the youngest member of Kobe Bryant’s Mamba girls basketball team, that included Bryant’s daughter, Gianna. Six years after their death, she remains as the last active high school player Bryant coached.
