Those injuries kept all three…Hallie Bunkers, Grace Galles and Brielle Schorg…off the court this season until last night.
Remsen St. Mary’s Head Coach Joseph Loutsch
“It was a very special moment. I’m having everybody back together for the first time senior night, especially, especially extra special for Grace being our lone senior, getting on the court and allowing her to score. She is Just the whole team being together for the first time annoucning them as starters was a special moment.”
Galles was cleared for non-contact sports last month, Bunkers got her neck brace off on Thursday, and after months recovering in Omaha, Schorg returned to school last week.
Galles said-
“In December, I didn’t think I would be able to play basketball again. It’s just like a one time thing. They just wanted to make my senior night special, which was just so great, and getting my other two teammates out there with me to experience that together and just bring the whole team together. On Senior Night, I couldn’t have asked for a better night.”
Schorg said-
“It was so emotional, and so amazing. I’m so grateful for everyone in this community, it makes my recovery go by so much faster, and no one makes me feel any different like how I am now.”
Bunkers said-
“We know that we were put in this position for a reason, and I think it’s really cool and awesome that we got to do this.”
Last night’s final score—Lawton-Bronson 59, Remsen St. Mary’s 42
