The shooting on March 19, 2026,happened around 12:40 a.m., Jackson was shot in the parking lot of a Waffle House at 120 West Spring Valley Road during a conflict between two groups of teens. According to reports and his family, he went to help a friend who was being attacked by multiple individuals…but he was shot as he turned to run trying to reach his friend. He was not the intended target and did not appear close to the shooter in available video descriptions.

The injuries were severe:

  • a shattered spinal cord
  • ruptured lung and aorta
  • fractured ribs

Doctors have told the family that he is permanently paralyzed from the waist down. He underwent three surgeries in the first few days, was initially in intensive care, and has since been moved to a regular hospital room. He faces inpatient rehabilitation after discharge, with an uncertain hospital stay length.

His father, James, said that his son worked two jobs, plus he was a member on the Richardson High School basketball team. He also said that Seth had been accepted to the University of Houston, and he already had an apartment rented for the fall semester.

RICHARDSON POLICE DEPARTMENT

The Richardson Police Department has arrested two individuals in connection with the shooting that occurred on March 19, 2026, at 120 West Spring Valley Road.

Two suspects, identified as 18-year-old Taylor Griffin of Anna, Texas, and 17-year-old Charles Webster of Anna, Texas, were taken into custody on March 26, 2026. Both have been charged with Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity.

Investigators believe both individuals participated in the events leading up to and during the shooting. Detectives believe the incident began as a conflict between two groups, which escalated when multiple individuals drew handguns and fired their weapons.

The investigation remains ongoing, and additional arrests are anticipated. No further details are being released at this time as detectives continue their work.
