Who’s #1 This Week In The National HS Boys Basketball Rankings

(2-6-17) The talk of the HS Basketball World this weekend was Oak Hills 96-91 win over Chino Hills that stopped their 60 game winning streak. The loss did not change their rankings in poll, they remain #3 in the MaxPreps Top 25  and #2 in the Split  Public School rankings.  In the USA Today Top 25 they did drop three spots to #8, while Oak Hills moved up one spot to #7.

With the Chino Hills winning streak over, another streak ended as well on the same night  when Federal Way (Washington) (who dropped out of this week’s MaxPrep Rankings) also lost to Kentwood 69-59 to end a 63 game winning streak.

So who now has the longest (known) winning streak in the US? North Central located in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.  The Jets are in the smallest class (D) are the reigning State Champs in the Wolverine State and have now won 68 games in a row and are 13-0 on the season.

One new Public school who entered the rankings on both sites is Bolingbrook (Illinois). The Raiders are 21-0 on the season and are ranked 23rd on the MaxPreps Top 25, 13th in the Split Public School ranking and #21 in USA Today.

IMG still leads the MaxPreps Top 10 Independents, Oak Hills with it’s win over Chino Hils moved up two spots to #3.
