Press Release from Lima Central Catholic High School – May 20, 2024 –

Lima Central Catholic High School is thrilled to announce the appointment of two distinguished alumni to key positions within the athletic department. Liam Stolly, from the Class of 2015, will take the helm as Athletic Director, and Rosie Williams has been named Head Varsity Girls’ Basketball Coach.

Liam Stolly steps into the role of Athletic Director, succeeding Mike Rumschlag, who has significantly expanded and enhanced the athletic program over the past three years. A 2015 graduate of Lima Central Catholic, Liam earned a degree in Sports Administration from the University of Cincinnati, where he also served as Manager for the Cincinnati Bearcats Men’s Basketball team. This past year, he held a multifaceted role at LCC as part-time Assistant Athletic Director, part-time Dean of Students, Campus Minister, and Assistant Coach for the Boys’ Varsity Basketball Team.

Stolly said-

“I am honored to return to Lima Central Catholic in this leadership role. My years here at LCC truly shaped me into who I am today, and I am excited to honor the past, embrace the present, and work to shape the future of Thunderbird athletics!”

Joining Liam on the Athletic staff is Rosie Williams, a standout athlete from the Class of 2020, who returned to her Alma Mater in the Fall of 2023 as a full-time Intervention Specialist after graduating from The Ohio State University. Rosie will lead the Varsity Girls’ Basketball team, moving from assistant coach to the position of head coach. Rosie played basketball all four years at LCC and is the leading rebounder in LCC women’s basketball history, and the only women’s basketball player to have the combination of over 1,000 points and over 1,000 rebounds in her high school career.

Willims said –

“I have dreamed of coaching girls basketball at LCC for as long as I can remember. Moving through the program as a young fan, then a player and now a coach is a surreal moment for me. It is an honor to follow in the footsteps of the great coaches that have been here before me and I hope to continue the traditions they laid out for me here at LCC.”

Stephanie Williams, Principal of Lima Central Catholic High School, shared her enthusiasm for the new hires, stating-

“We are incredibly excited to welcome Liam and Rosie back to LCC. Having alumni return to serve in leadership roles speaks volumes about the strong sense of community and commitment that our school fosters. Currently, 28% of our faculty and staff are alumni, and we are proud to see this tradition continue.”

Lima Central Catholic High School is confident that the addition of Liam Stolly and Rosie Williams will bring renewed energy and success to the athletic department. Their leadership and passion for sports will inspire students and continue the tradition of excellence at LCC.
