(La Jolla Calif) Bishop’s 5’9 Senior Guard Destiny Littleton made California history last night scoring 30 points in a 72-47 win over Ramona, which moved her the top spot, ahead of Charde Houston of San Diego High, scoring 30 points at the MLK Hoopfest at Mount Miguel. Littleton now has 3,838 points in her career and she is ‘not done yet’ with a lot more opportunities ahead of her to add to that record.

Littleton’s record breaking 3-pointer came with 6:18 still to play in the third quarter. Littleton would not return to the game after her record breaking basket, sitting her out to enjoy the historic moment. The 30 points she scored was her lowest total this season, what gets overlooked, she also had 8 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals on the night.
Littleton told the San Diego Union-Tribune:
“It’s humbling to do this. I’ve passed so many great players along the way, seeing them drop below me was amazing.”
Littleton now needs just 162 points to reach the 4,000 career point mark, that will put her in a very elite group of players, one of just fourteen (NFHS record book) to do that in Girls high school basketball history in the US. She presently sits at #17 all-time (NFHS), one point ahead of Charde Houston (San Diego High), who is now the #2 career scoring leader in California.
Honestly the best moment I’ve ever lived through ! Words can’t describe the way I’m feeling❤ #number1 https://t.co/JWt4nYk35b
