(3-9-17) Numerous sources say that former Rockford Lutheran Head Football Coach Bruce Bazsali is a finalist to replace Rockford Guilford veteran coach Mel Gilfillian.
Gilfillian recently announced that he was leaving his position a after 16 years as the Vikings Head Coach. Gilfillian was the last remaining original head coaches of the four RPS 205 schools who were in place when the current administration took over.

Bazsali just stepped down from the Rockford Lutheran job, after resigning last December, after seven years of rebuilding the Crusader program.
The other three RPS 205 coaches (Jefferson, Guilford and Auburn) who recently came on board, two came from private school backgrounds, Dan Appino (Auburn) from Boylan and Gary Griffith (East) was from Lutheran where he was the AD. Jefferson Coach Ken DuBose came for a junior college program.
