(6-23-17) Grandview Heights’ Linebacker James Lachey (6’4, 230lb, 2018), who was named the All Central District D VI Football Defensive Player of the Year (2016) announced today on Twitter that he has committed to play his college football at Bowling Green State University.
Lachey who is also the starting TE when he plays offense for the Bobcats, was a first team selection in the Mid State League.
Grandview Heights went 6-4 and missed making the playoffs in 2016, last season they lost in the State Semifinals to Kirtland 13-9. Kirtland would go on to beat Marion Local 22-20 for the D VI State Title.
Lachey is the son of St. Henry grad Jim, who was an All-American lineman at Ohio State, was a 1st Round NFL Draft (12th overall) pick for the Chargers and would win a Super Bowl ring with Washington. Lachey currently does color on the Buckeyes Football Radio Network.
