(8-22-17) The Celina Bulldogs swept the team titles in today’s Mercer County Cross Country Championships run in Celina at St. John Luthern Church.  While Marion Local’s Kelsey Broering is the County Champ in the girls meet and St. Henry’s Devin Huelskamp picked up the boys County title.

In the girls meet only four teams were eligible for the team title, the Bulldogs edged St. Henry 48-52.  Celina was led by Lauren Jackson (Senior), who was the second girl to finish in a time of 21.30.16, while St. Henry’s top runner was Lauren Hemmelgran (Sophomore)  who came in third overall at 22:04.68. Marion Local’s Kelsey Broering (Sophomore) won the meet’s individual title with a time of 20:53.51, 37 seconds ahead of Jackson.

Celina won the boy’s title beating St. Henry 44-51, Parkway was third with 61. Sophomore Ethan Ly led the way for the Bulldogs with a 4th place finish and a time of 18:40.05. St. Henry’s Devin Huelskamp (Senior) led the Redskins as he picked up the individual title with a time of 17.54.90. Parkway runners Matt Gaerke (Junior) and Kyle Roth (Sophomore) finished 2nd and 3rd to lead the Panthers.
