(10-30-17) The Bethel Bees will travel to Coldwater for a first round D VI Region 24 playoff game. For the Bees it is their first to the playoffs since 2001, while the Cavaliers have been playoff battle tested and will play in the playoffs for the 21st consecutive time (1997-2017).
The Bees are 9-1 on the season, with their only loss coming to Cross County Champion rival Miami East 50-29. Bethel has faced one Region 24 qualifier Dayton Christian (9-1) and picked up a 45-15 win, the only blemish on the Warriors record.

The Bees are led by 6’2 Senior QB Jacob Evers, Evers has over a 1,200 yards passing, his leading receiver is Kendal James with over 500 yards in recpetions. At Running back Jacob Ulmer is a threat on both the ground and on the other end of a pass.
On defense Bethel is led by Sophomore Linebacker Dillon Kelley who has almost 80 tackles on the season.

For the Cavaliers it has been sort of a ‘rebuilding‘ season with a 7-3 record, including losing two in a row in games two and three to start the season (Clinton Massie 24-14 and Marion Local 13-7). The season ended on a sour note when they lost to Delphos St. John’s 12-7 last week , it was the first Blue Jays win over Coldwater since 2010.

First year QB (Senior) Sam Broering has had an impressive season with over 1,700 yards passing, his two main targets this season have been Jacob Wenning, with over 700 yards in pass receptions and Ben Wenning with over 400 yards.
On defense, Brad Giere with 78 tackles and Seth Obringer with 76 tackles lead the way.
A big plus for the Cavs in this post-season will be Kicker Blake Dippold, he is 27 of 28 on extra point tries, with 4 FGs (37 yards the longest).
The winner of this game will play the winner of the LCC-Dayton Christian game. The T-Birds took over the Region 24 #1 spot after a win over Gilmour Academy in week 10, it was the first week Marion Local did not hold down that spot. The rankings change moved Marion Local to the bottom bracket where they match-up with MAC rival Ft. Recovery.
