(11-8-17) Little did Shawnee Head Football Coach Frank Crea know that his last game as the Indians had man would be the final game of the season in the mud in a loss to Celina 49-7.


WIMA’s Todd Walker reported on Twitter today that Crea would not coach the Indians in 2018 and that he could not confirm if he had fired or resigned. Shortly after that post Walker tweeted that Shawnee’s AD Dick Heath told him it was a resignation.

Crea in two seasons at Shawnee was 5-15 and finished this season with a 4-6 record, including a one-point loss to St. Marys 35-34, the Roughriders went 9-0 in the WBL.

Crea was the defensive coordinator at Lima Senior for three seasons before taking the job, he replaced Jon Carpenter, who resigned after one season with an 0-10. record

Crea has coached in the area since 1986. He was Upper Scioto Valley’s head coach in 2000 and 2001, a season that ended after one game when the Rams did not have enough players to complete their schedule. He was the defensive coordinator at Ada from 2006-2012, he coached the offensive line and special teams at Lima Senior from 1986-1999 and was an assistant coach at Perry.
