Andre White Jr announced on Twitter tonight that he will transferring to Waukegan after a very short stay at Harlem.White Jr. has not played at the same high school during his time in school, he played at Loyola Academy as a Freshman, Harvest Christian as a sophomore and not even a half of a season at Harlem. No word if he will try and get the IHSA to allow him to play for Waukegan this season.
It was on December 4th that his father, Andre White Sr resigned as the varsity assistant at Harlem. No word if White Sr. will be on the coaching staff at Waukegan.
(1-2-18) It’s already been a tough start of the year for the Harlem Huskies boys basketball team, including a team that has faced starters missing games due to injury and for health reasons.
In early December, Varsity Assistant Boys Basketball Coach Andre White Sr’s resignation was accepted by the Harlem School Board. The job was posted on the Harlem web site December 4th and is still on the site.
With the apparent resignation, White’s son Andre White Jr. has not been in or around the Harlem program recently. The assumption is that he is no longer a member of the team based on those reports.
White who is receiving looks from colleges at the DI level, has not disclosed on what the future holds for either of the White’s at this time. Jr. transferred to Harlem after playing one season under his father at Harvest Christian.
According to SportsFan Radio 1330 stats, White was leading the NIC 10 in scoring with 19.8 points a game, plus he had 4.9 assists, 4.6 assists and 10 3-pt FGs on the season.
Harlem’s next game is at Freeport on Friday night in a NIC 10 game.
