(1-21-18) Ohio Northern University’s Ryan Bruns (Marion Local) last night broke the Polar Bear’s’s 36-year old blocked shots record in a 73-66 road victory at Mount Union.
Bruns blocked three shots in the contest, giving him 172 for his 3-year career, breaking the previous school record of 171 set by Stan Mories (1979-82). Bruns started this season with 124 blocked shots and has added 47 already this season.
In last night’s win he added 30-points (9 rebounds), that leaves Bruns just 15 (1,985 career) points away from reaching a 1,000 points in his career during his Junior season. He will join 38 ONU former players in the 1,000-Point Club when he hits that mark.
Bruns will have his first chance to pick up those 15 points at Wilmington on Wednesday night.
